Organised by the club’s Indian community, the tournament was organised to celebrate the 73rd Indian Independence Day.
A total of 112 players took part in the competition, which was played on stableford format and held in three divisions. The first category (0-7 handicap), saw Cuddihy taking the top spot with 36 points. Puli Sharma with 34 was runner-up while Sachin Bawa with 28 was third.
Singh won the second division (8-16 handicap) with 41 points while Mohammed al Wahaibi with 39 was runner-up and Chandrasekhar Das with 37 came third.
Seshan topped the third division (17-24 handicap) with 43 points with Robert Pancras taking the second spot with 38 and Ayman al Busaidi third (37).
Marylyn Hayes won the women's gross title and Faiz Mohammed Riaz took the top honours in the gross category with a score of 77.
Later a ceremonial cake was cut by H E Manabile Shogole, the South African Ambassador to Oman and Sri Lankan Ambassador to the sultanate, H E Omar Lebbe Ameerajwad in the presence of Ghala Golf Club captain Prakash S J, club's general manager Tim Neil, and Ananth Padmanaban, the organising committee member.Other winners: Longest drive: Sanjoli Singh; nearest to pin: Milind Nadkarni, Yahya Baabood.
