A press release stated the selection of books included works on US culture, history, society, politics, business, education, and entrepreneurship, in addition to a selection of American literary classics for readers of all ages.
Maxwell Stoneman, acting public affairs officer at the US Embassy, praised the addition of a special section for children’s books this year.
Stoneman was quoted in the release as saying, “Schools in Oman are dedicated to developing an interest in books and by encouraging reading in children, the country is building a well-read future generation.”
The embassy’s participation in MIBF is part of its programme to support mutual understanding and exchange.
The release added that, ‘The embassy is honoured to have participated in the fair every year since it was founded 18 years ago and looks forward to many more.’
