SQU to participate in Shell Eco-marathon-Asia 2018

Sultan Qaboos University and Shell Oman signed an agreement for a student team to participate in the Shell Eco-marathon-Asia that will take place in early 2018.

The agreement was signed by Dr Ali Saud al Bemani, vice chancellor, SQU; Chris Breeze, Shell’s country chairman in Oman, and Mohammed Mahmood al Balushi, CEO, Shell Oman Marketing Company, stated a press release.

It will be the 34th season for Shell Eco-marathon.
It provides a safe yet challenging competition for students to design, build, and drive the world’s most energy-efficient vehicles.

The competition, with US$2,000 prize money, is now simplified into three energy categories: Internal combustion, battery-electric, and hydrogen fuel cell.
