Arwa’s endeavour is to bring its clients the finest handcrafted materials from Oman, maintaining high quality and variety throughout the range of their products.
A showcasing of these products is now on at Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC.
The idea was conceived by Arwa al Musafir, an Omani fashion designer and owner of Arwa Boutique. Arwa is proud of her Omani heritage and has steered her passion into creating Omani crafts and handicrafts.
The principal items that are often gifted or taken as souvenirs from the sultanate and are greatly treasured by foreigners abroad are Omani coffee, frankincense and dates. For Arwa, what initially began as handcrafted packaging for dates and frankincense later diversified to include Omani coffee and rose water from Jebel Akhdar. “What makes Omani coffee different from the rest is that it is defined by the method of preparation and flavours,” Arwa told Muscat Daily.
These handcrafted by home-based businesswomen, bring to life the essence of Oman, perfectly packaged to be an ideal souvenir and gift that is easy to grab and travel. Crowne Plaza OCEC was the first out of many establishments to believe in the vision and idea of Arwa al Musafir.
Approximately three months ago, collaboration between the hotel manager, Paul Schenk and executive chef, Thony Renard was formed to create the finished product that it is today. The display is perfectly located in the lobby, where it grabs the attention of all those who check in and out of the hotel.
Arwa’s handmade Omani crafts stand out from the rest because of the uniqueness of the craft and the authenticity of the product. These products are beautifully handmade with no plastic packaging. A purely local gift that captures the essence of Oman, a perfect present to mark the end of one’s stay.
