The event will be held from April 30 to May 1 at the Sheraton Oman Hotel, Muscat. The forum will provide a comprehensive insight into specific trade and investment opportunities and address high-level issues about the policy and objectives across multiple sectors in Oman as well as other countries such as Iran. This will help enable business leaders to identify new opportunities.
H E Dr Ali bin Masoud bin Ali al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, who is the chief patron of the event will be giving the keynote speech along with Mohammadreza Nematzadeh, Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Iran.
In a welcome note, H E Dr Sunaidy, stated, “The event will bring together government officials from the sultanate and other countries including Iran to actively engage with all major stakeholders, contractors and developers, lenders, foreign and domestic investors, lawyers and a host of influential decision-makers to identify opportunities to further develop economic relations.”
Mohsin Khamis al Balushi, advisor, MoCI, speaking at a business meet last week, said that the ministry is hosting an important business and investment forum in Muscat. “This is an opportunity not only for Omani companies but also for other countries in the region and beyond to interact with their counterparts. We have been updated by our organisers that quite a large interest has been expressed by regional companies, not only from GCC but also from Iran as well European companies to the forum.”
Some of the panelists and speakers who have already confirmed their participation at the forum include H H Sayyid Faisal al Said, director general, Ithraa, H E Yahya bin Said al Jabri, chairman, Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm, Saeed al Kiyumi, chairman, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, H E Dr Rawiyah bint Saud al Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education, Talal al Rahbi, deputy secretary general, Supreme Council for Planning, H E Ahmed bin Hassan al Deeb, Undersecretary, MoCI, and Dr Khalfan Mohammed al Barwani, vice president - financial services and operations, Central Bank of Oman among others.
Apart from Omani speakers, there are a host of Iranian experts who will be speaking and attending the meet. They include Nematzadeh, Mohammad Khazai, deputy minister and president, Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran among other trade and government representatives.
The event is being organised by IQPC.
