Local and international economists will come together to discuss the importance of economic competitiveness while identifying Oman's current advantages. The objective of the forum is to learn from the experience of organisations to better achieve the goals of Oman’s Vision 2020 of diversifying the economy, thus improving the country’s global economic position and investment climate, a press release said.
H H Sayyid Faisal al Said, Paiped's director general of marketing and media, said, “Globalisation is making our world increasingly smaller and the nature of competition in the international marketplace is no longer just about the value of the product or service - it’s now about a highly-skilled workforce and creative production.”
He added, “If we want to retain talented Omanis working in the sultanate, as well as attract talent from around the world, then prioritising quality living, education, infrastructure, work environment and lifestyle is essential. Oman is determined to respond to the changes around us and ensure our offer is second to none; our competitive edge will guarantee our place on the global stage - and driving this is central to Paiped’s agenda.”
