Oman Data Park opening new data centre for companies in Duqm

Muscat -

Oman Data Park (ODP) is opening a new data centre for companies in Duqm. It’s expected to be operational in Q3 of this year, said Donald Pinto, procurement manager, ODP.

It’s the company’s third office, after Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) and the one in Wattayah. On Monday, the company signed a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm (SEZAD).

The company will record economic data, traffic movement, and SEZAD’S economic and commercial plans within Duqm, Pinto said. “The data centre will provide a fully secure environment for hosting SEZAD colocation services enhancing operational efficiency with the highest level of security to meet the rapid growth of SEZAD,” the company said.

The company is intending to sign agreements with other companies in the Special Economic Zone and the Port of Duqm in future, Pinto said.
